For more information regarding Zoom and HIPAA, please reference this fact sheet.
- Quality: Zoom offers exceptional HD Video and Audio quality, even in low-bandwidth environments.
- Privacy: We have partnered with Zoom under a HIPAA compliant agreement and custom integration. No information is recorded or stored to the cloud, keeping connections private and secure.
- Usability: We have integrated Zoom across our member mobile and web experience as well as our provider experience, making it easy to start, join, and collaborate across any device.
We have partnered with the Zoom team to implement a HIPAA-secure version of Zoom to protect our members and providers. See below for a few facts about our integration:
- Sessions are not recorded to the cloud and recording is disabled for all participants in the meeting.
- Meetings are not listed publicly by Zoom or posted in calendar invites. Clients are always directed to their app, where they will need to access their phone or login securely to be routed into their video.
- Zoom employs industry-standard Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption using 256-bit keys to protect meetings.
- Controls are in place to protect and encrypt meeting data in motion and at rest.
Clients must download the Zoom app on mobile to join a session. If they haven’t, they’ll be prompted to do so. However, clients can join via a computer (my.joinmodernhealth.com) without needing the app, using Zoom through a web browser.
We recommend downloading Zoom for desktop for the best experience. Zoom services will not be accessible on mobile devices for providers. As a provider, you will navigate to your provider dashboard on desktop and join the Zoom link provided when you select to 'Join Session.’
No, our Zoom integration is FREE for both providers and members. If you pay for an existing Zoom account, this transition will not affect your account.
