Providers can update their profile in the Dashboard Settings tab by clicking Edit in the Your Profile section, making desired changes (such as name, gender, race/ethnicity, ideal client type, specializations, languages, residential location, or in-person care offering), and saving them. Demographic data may be used to match clients; to opt out, select “Prefer not to say.” Some fields (like licenses and email) are not editable directly via the Dashboard.
Within the Settings tab of the Provider Dashboard, you can view and update your profile details as your professional information changes.
You can currently update the following directly from the Dashboard:
- Name (Note: Please avoid using special characters like numbers or punctuation, as these will result in an error message when saving changes.)
- Gender*
- Race/Ethnicity* (USA-based therapists and coaches only)
- Ideal Client Type (therapists only)
- Specializations (including Child and Adolescent Specializations, for therapists only)
- Language Preferences
- Residential Location - Zip code/Postal Code, Country, State, and City (Note: For therapists, this does not affect your licensed locations. To edit licensed locations, refer to this article.)
- In-person Care Offering (therapists only)
*How we use your information
We use demographic information to match clients with providers based on requests for specific provider identities or affinity groups—including, but not limited to, a client's use of in-app filters to search for providers or be matched with providers with particular characteristics. If you do not want us to use your information for matching purposes, please select “Prefer not to say.” For more information, please see our Privacy Notice.
How do I make changes to the editable fields in my profile?
To make changes to the editable fields:
- Go to the Settings tab on the Dashboard.
- Click the Edit button in the upper right-hand corner of the Your Profile section.
- Make your desired changes.
- Remember to scroll down and click Save to secure your modifications.
Special Instructions for Therapists
Child and Adolescent Specializations: These fields become available only if you include these Client types in your Ideal Client field.

- Email (therapists only)
- License updates, for therapists;
- ICF Credential updates, for coaches.
