Modern Health clients can choose whether to record each Zoom session to receive an AI-generated draft note. Before every session, they see a notification and can opt out, but recording can be turned on later via the Zoom Record button (or More > Record when screen sharing). When recording starts, Zoom plays an audible “Recording in progress,” shows a pop-up for non-host participants, displays a red Recording indicator, and updates the toolbar with Pause and Stop.
Your Modern Health clients will always have the option to choose whether or not they want to record a session, which will allow you to receive the AI-generated draft note afterwards.
Here is the notification they will receive prior to every scheduled session:
If the client selects 'do not record’, but changes their mind during the session in Zoom, you are able to turn on recording on their behalf.
In order to turn on recording, just click the Record button at the bottom of your Zoom screen, as indicated below.
You will both hear an audio disclaimer that says recording in progress, and recording will be automatically enabled.
You will also get a pop-up notification informing you of the recording, just click Got it and proceed with the therapy session normally.
When the recording feature is active during a session:
- All participants will hear an audible message: “Recording in progress”
- Non-host (your Modern Health client) participants will see a pop-up notification informing them that recording is in progress.
- A red “Recording” indicator will remain visible in the top right corner of the Zoom window for the duration of the recording.
- These notifications are built into Zoom to ensure all participants are aware that the session is being recorded.
Once recording starts, the toolbar updates to show Pause and Stop buttons.
If you are sharing your screen and the client requests to start recording, you can find the record button by clicking the More button:
Then select Record, at which point you will both hear an audio disclaimer that says recording in progress.
After this, you will see a pop-up message informing you of the recording, just click Got it and continue with the therapy session normally.
Additionally, you can confirm that recording is in progress by referencing the status in the top right corner of the Zoom screen, as shown below:
